MPI relies on its volunteers to assist with creating programs that members need. Numerous opportunities are available at the chapter and international levels. Not only will you build your career and increase your industry knowledge, but your time and expertise will help the meeting and event industry improve and grow as well.
MPI offers a variety of roles to fit our members' time commitments and interests allowing them to be involved and contribute to the success of MPI. Before volunteering it is important to consider the time and travel required for each position.

|Chapter-Committee ||Commitment: Minimal travel and fewer meetings. Most meetings occur online, phone conference, or in the member’s region. Responsibilities may require a few hours of your time. |
Chapters rely on members to be involved and help with education programs, obtaining sponsorships, planning special events and many other responsibilities. Contribution at this level allows you to work closely with peers in your region and gain insight on the inner workings of your chapter.

Committee members perform fundamental governance functions for MPI. Task force members are part of a team created for a defined and time-limited purpose. As a member of a committee, you will provide advice, counsel, and a vital industry perspective for MPI Global programs and initiatives as well as the International Board of Directors. |Business Research Panel ||Commitment: No travel required. Participation in surveys and discussions via telephone. |
Volunteers are needed to share their opinions and insight into the status of the meeting and event industry. Panelists are asked to complete a brief survey quarterly and to participate in occasional discussions and information sharing regarding the state of the industry. Volunteers may also be asked to participate in other MPI research throughout the year on various topics. For more information, contact MPI Research.
|International-MPI Board of Directors ||Commitment: Travel and more time commitment is required. Up to 4 face-to-face meetings a year and conference calls in between. Occasional projects required in between meetings. |
