Institutes Frequently Asked Questions

Can I attend only on certain days or only part of the program?
Unlike typical "conferences", Institutes is a full-curriculum experience with the curriculum being integrated from session to session.  We do not offer any discounted registration for partial attendance, and you will not receive a certificate of completion unless you attend the full program.  For more information on Institutes,  click here.

Can I get my CMP after I attend Institutes?
Not necessarily. The CMP designation is administered by the another industry group called the Convention Industry Council (CIC) and it would depend on your other experience and education.  However, you will receive CEUs (Certified Education Units) to apply towards your CMP application and/or re-certification.   For more information on Institutes see http://www.mpiweb.org/education/institutes.

Can I pick sessions from all three levels of Institutes during the Institutes program?
The curriculum is integrated for each level, so you are required to take only the sessions offered to the level for which you are registered.  For more information on Institutes see http://www.mpiweb.org/education/institutes

Can students attend Institutes?
Yes, you can register as a student member.  If you are not currently a member, by joining MPI, you will save off the non-member rate and will be able to register at the student rate. For more information on Institutes, see: http://www.mpiweb.org/education/institutes/.

Do I need to attend Institute I before I attend levels II and III?

How is Institutes different from MPI's CMM program?
Institutes focuses on three levels of tactical learning.  There is no testing or "passing" required to receive these certificates.  CMM MPI's highest level educational program teaches strategic thinking and acting and is for those with ten or more years experience.
