MCI Embraces Corporate Responsibility

         Global events management company MCI has launched a new corporate social responsibility (CSR) program with plans to establish “triple bottom line” reporting, which will monitor environmental and social indicators as well as traditional financial performance. The company has also signed the United Nations Global Compact for responsible corporate citizenship.

         “We believe our long-term growth must strike a balance between the needs of the economy, the environment and society,” MCI President Roger Tondeur said. “MCI is committed to conceiving, creating, staging and producing memorable events and communication projects in an environmentally responsible, ethical and safe way.”

         The CSR program will unfold in the following three directions.

·   All 17 MCI offices will introduce green office programs to recognize and minimize direct and indirect impacts

·   An MCI taskforce will assist existing clients achieve CSR objectives

·   MCI will create an industry practice focused on consulting and servicing the growing renewable energy sector

         Working in conjunction with Meeting Strategies Worldwide, the MCI team has created its Sustainable Event Methodology. The company will consult with corporate and institutional clients to reduce, measure, benchmark and report on their environmental impacts. MCI will also begin to provide carbon offset options to help mitigate emissions generated by client events.
