WHAT ARE THE CRITERIA?
Influence
- Describe how the organization has used meetings and events to advance organizational strategy, drive business results or create change.
- Describe the extent of transformational impact desired and the outcome.
- Provide qualitative and quantitative measurements and evaluation successes.
- Is the organization a leader in this initiative?
- How has the organization communicated with key stakeholders?
Innovation
- Describe how the concept was developed. (List evidence of complexity, creativity reviewing strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats
- How were the challenges and risk managed throughout?
- List any best practices that could be applied such as marketing, sustainable practices, community creation, technology integration, measurement, financial strategies or removing geographical and cultural boundaries.
Transferability
- Describe the impact of these initiatives across boundaries. (List evidence of global reach)
- Explain how others may find success with the initiative.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
- Organizations not individuals
- Open to any organization that meets the criteria.
- Organizations that are represented by members holding a current leadership role with MPI are not eligible. Leadership role is defined as MPI Board of Directors and MPI Foundation Global Board of Trustees. Organizations that are represented by members of the judging panels are also not eligible.
- Programs must have been completed and evaluation data available at time of application.
WHAT SHOULD THE NOMINATION INCLUDE?
- May be self nominated or nominated by peers
- Specifically articulated achievements and/or contributions
- Impact must be documented in measurable terms
- Achievements must be validated by at least three recommendations by individuals or organizations
- Nominations will be verified through interviews by awards panel members
HOW DO I NOMINATE AN ORGANIZATION?
The nomination process is electronic.
- Step One: Complete the online peer nomination form. Explain how the nominee meets the criteria. The peer nomination form will serve as a letter of recommendation. The nomination form will be submitted to MPI Headquarters.
- Step Two: In January, MPI will contact the nominee and request an application be completed. This is an opportunity for the organization to provide more details of the achievements and provide two additional letters of recommendation.
- Step Three: Nominated organization must submit the completed application, release statement, two letters of recommendation (cannot be from MPI staff) and documentation explaining how the organization meets the criteria. All items must be received prior to the application deadline.
- Step Four: Once received, a member of the judging panel will schedule a phone interview with a spokesman for nominated organization.
WHAT IS THE DEADLINE TO SUBMIT A NOMINATION?
All online nominations must have been received by MPI no later than December 16, 2011.
No hard copy submissions will be accepted. No late or partial entries will be accepted.
Applications and the letters of recommendation will undergo a round of judging. The judges are an international group of volunteers representing a range of professions and expertise. Applications are collected by MPI and reviewed for completion and compliance. Any nominations that require further review will be considered by the Chair of the judging panel.
Judges review and score all qualified entries. Finalists are submitted to the MPI Executive Committee for review.
WHEN WILL THE WINNER BE ANNOUNCED?
The winner of the Organizational Achievement award will be selected and notified April/May 2012. The presentation of the award is July 2012 at MPI’s World Education Congress in St. Louis, Missouri.
