International Competency Standards for
Meeting and Business Event Management

MPI is seeking your feedback on the new International Competency Standards for Meeting and Business Event Management. Comments accepted through January 31, 2010.

What are the new Meeting and Business Event Competency Standards? These Standards are meant to be an integrated outline of knowledge and skills required for you to be considered competent at managing a variety of meetings and business events at an expert level.

  • This outline is benchmarked and informed by IEMS, CMP and APEX
  • The outline identifies and recognizes skills and knowledge that will define a competently trained meeting professional
  • The knowledge and skills are broad and inclusive so to apply to a wide range of industry career paths and varying experience levels

Your attention and feedback is critical to the overall success, implementation and future direction of our meetings and business events industry. We are asking you to review and comment on the initial version of the International Competency Standards for Meeting and Business Event Management.
