MPI Global Training for Meetings and Business Events

We are witnessing a massive development of meeting and event infrastructure all around the globe, an increase in the number of meetings and events held, and tighter regulations (e.g. TARP) of our industry. The convergence of these factors is creating a focus on meetings as a business expense, and it is therefore crucially important to be able to demonstrate clear measurements on the return of meetings. 

Unfortunately, our meetings and business events industry is lacking a true body of knowledge to map the needed skills and competencies for our professionals as you progress through your career. This also means that there is no distinct career path and a limited pipeline for talent.

Clearly, this is an opportunity that MPI is focusing on developing for our industry.  MPI as a global community in our industry has undertaken the task of establishing a body of knowledge, which will define the necessary skills and competencies that are needed in meeting management.

This body of knowledge, together with the industry knowledge and research that MPI has gathered over the last 35 years and which we continue to generate, serves as the basis for a comprehensive knowledge plan.  The knowledge plan maps all the channels that are available for our members and customers to gain knowledge.

As one of the delivery channels of the knowledge plan, MPI’s Global Training will give meeting and event professionals access to education at every level of their career, from the basics of meeting operations and logistics up to the executive leadership level.

MPI’s Global Training offers a clear career path and a comprehensive knowledge set that will ease recruitment and retention and enhance training. It delivers a global standard through certificates and certifications providing transferability, employability and increased compensation/rewards.  This personal training and development plan will fast-track not only the education, but also the career of MPI members, customers and the industry as a whole.

To enable this, MPI is conducting educational training programs through local partners, such academic, government, and private institutions to support the distribution of the MPI Global Training plan.
