The Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) program is a confirmation of acquired skills and competencies. The CMP is a global professional designation delivered by the Convention Industry Council (CIC). MPI is a proud supporter of the CIC’s Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) Program.

MPI assists your preparation for this important career milestone in several ways:

• The MPI CMP Online Study Guide is a focused and flexible program designed to support preparation for the CMP exam. In cooperation with Megapolitan Tourism Research Center of Arizona State University the online study guide is designed to help you study for the CMP exam. You will learn at your own pace and take periodic self-assessment tests to check on your progress. Additional details on the program and an introductory overview presentation can be found online.
• If you are currently preparing for the CMP exam, you may want to consider participating in a CMP study group offered by many MPI chapters. A complete listing of MPI chapters with designated chapter contact names and contact information is available online.
• If you plan to study independently, most of the recommended reference materials are available through the MPI Store. Visit the online MPI Store to purchase the materials.

MPI and the Convention Industry Council (CIC) recently announced a plan to upgrade the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation as an important and consistent global certification for the meetings industry. MPI will make an investment in the CMP program to ensure its ongoing relevance amidst increasing performance expectations on meeting and event professionals and also to make the CMP more globally available.
