MPI Global Knowledge Plan
We are witnessing a massive development of meeting and event infrastructure all around the globe, an increase in the number of meetings and events held, and tighter regulations (e.g. TARP) of our industry. The convergence of these factors is creating a focus on meetings as a business expense, and it is therefore crucially important to be able to demonstrate clear measurements on the return of meetings.
Unfortunately, our industry is lacking a body of knowledge to map the needed skills and competencies for our professionals. This also means that there is no distinct career path and a limited pipeline for talent.
MPI as a global community in our industry has undertaken the task of establishing a body of knowledge, which will define the necessary skills and competencies that are needed in meeting management.
This body of knowledge, together with the industry knowledge and research that MPI has gathered over the last 35 years and which we continue to generate, will serve as the basis for a comprehensive knowledge plan. The knowledge plan will map all the channels that are available for our members and customers to gain knowledge.
