Community Project - Feed The Hungry
If you are committed to giving back to the Budapest community, make sure
you come in early enough on Sunday, 29th January 2012 to take part in our powerful project this year
in collaboration with Budapest Underguide.
Like
any major capital city in the depths of winter, Budapest has homeless
people looking for warmth and food at this time of year. Join your
industry colleagues and head downtown where we'll learn to cook Goulash
(a traditional Hungarian stew) from a renowned local chef before
preparing and serving a large scale lunch for the homeless.
The programme on Sunday, 29th January 2012 will be as follows:
09:30 Transfer by bus to Public Foundation for the Homeless, Szobi Street Shelter
10:00 Preparation and cooking of a fabulous Hungarian Goulash
14:00 Serving of meal to the shelter residents
15:00 Transfer back to the hotel in time for the Official Conference Opening
If you are not able to attend this CSR project, don't worry you can still help and leave a positive legacy in Budapest. During the coffee breaks in the MPI Café on Monday, 30th January 2012 you’ll be able to help prepare food packages for the Hungarian homeless community. About 1000 sandwich lunches need to be prepared and all help is appreciated! Join your MPI peers and take part in a fantastic team building exercise whilst helping those in need.
The dress code for the Community Project is casual.
Bound to be a rewarding experience, make sure you reserve your place!

MPI's Commitment to Sustainability
MPI has made the following commitment to sustainability and to sustainable events:
We recognize the immense potential impact our actions have on the communities in which we do business and make a deliberate commitment to the transformational power of meetings and events to support environmental, economic and social sustainability.
We will establish leadership and demonstrate commitment in the area of sustainable meetings by including environmental, economic and social factors in decisions we make on behalf of our members, and by making the best use of resources for maximum impact and alignment with our objectives.
We will educate and inform our members about our actions. We are committed to building our brand, supporting our mission and vision, and connecting our community in a sustainable way.
British Standard 8901 for Sustainable Event Management
We have incorporated the principles of the first sustainable event standard, British Standard 8901, into how we work. This includes planning for the event, implementation of the event on-site, and a post-event review process that allows us to learn from our successes and challenges and incorporate changes into our next event.
For a BS 8901 case study on the first MPI event to attain third-party certification, please click here.
Check back here to learn more about the sustainability initiatives we have in place as the event takes shape.
