European Meetings and Events Conference 2012 Previews the Future - Innovation. Re-Imagined.
The European Meetings and Events Conference (EMEC) is the most innovative conference for meeting professionals in Europe in concept, content as well as meeting room design. EMEC breaks new ground 29-31 January 2012 in Budapest, Hungary, with a lineup that’s been dramatically re-designed and innovation that’s been boldly re-imagined to yield immediate returns for conference-goers.
“Our theme is ‘Innovation. Re-Imagined,’” says MPI President and CEO Bruce MacMillan. “Ubiquitous human connectivity is one of today’s most pervasive global trends. Applying innovation is the key to successfully managing that connectivity for our fast changing industry and crucial in helping planners and suppliers bring more value to their events.” The 2012 conference is the first to be held in a central European city. “Hungary is a European hub of innovation, so it’s especially appropriate that its capital is our host city for the 2012 conference,” MacMillan adds.
The 2012 conference builds off the success of last year’s EMEC event in Düsseldorf, Germany, in terms of professional development content. Attendees will experience and experiment with new meeting set-ups, formats and educational opportunities as never before.
- For the first time, the conference offers condensed video presentations of popular sessions. Attendees never have to miss an important session again.
- Also on the agenda for 2012 is a new focus on meeting design as part of the Future of Meetings Thought Leadership initiative. Planners can connect with the best and brightest thinkers inside and outside the industry.
- The popular Flash Point features a new component in which experts are available to dive deeper into topics that interest attendees.
Conference navigation will also be enhanced with tracking structured around the content areas of: Educate, Exchange and Experience.
Educate: Innovative Learning
This goes well beyond lectures. EMEC turns concepts into experiences. Attendees benefit from credible and relevant content aligned with industry demands. Look here for big ideas in small doses like Flash Point. Inspiring speakers get straight to the point with ideas that will change our industry. Thought Leadership sessions share need-to-know information culled from global research conducted over the past 18 months. And special interest sessions offer unprecedented opportunities for professional development.
Exchange: Innovative Networking
Connect with colleagues from the very start. Facilitated networking
opportunities in a variety of settings make it easier than ever to
explore business opportunities and come away with long-term business
contacts and meaningful relationships.
Experience: Innovative Customisation
What meeting professionals want, how they want it and when they want it. EMEC is completely customisable in 2012 with attendee-generated content. Top-voted sessions from European MPI Chapter submissions earn a spot on the main education program. And back by popular demand is the Solution Room, the place to share ideas and challenges with peers.
