Hosted Buyer Program Terms & Conditions
Benefits:
In exchange for the investment of your time, MPI is pleased to extend the following benefits, provided the conditions of participation (listed below) are fully met.
- Four (4) night’s complimentary all-inclusive hotel stay at Moon Palace (based on single occupancy, standard guest room). Valued at US $925
Then, you may choose one of the two items listed below:
- Complimentary full conference registration (valued at US $625 for MPI members) which includes:
- Education Sessions (excluding computer lab sessions)
- Welcome Reception
- Closing Night Reception
- Registration Bag and Materials
- Coffee Breaks
- Lunches
OR
- Complimentary airfare to Cancun (you may be reimbursed for airfare up to a maximum of US $500) provided your hotel room is booked inside the MPI hotel block at Moon Palace.
Qualifying Criteria:
- To qualify for this program, you must be an active buyer of meeting, incentive, conference, convention, or other group travel programs.
- The application will consist of detailed questions related to your previous and future program size, scope, your buying power, budget, and potential for future business.
- Applicants will be selected based on their verified buying history and their geographical representation. If you are unable to provide specific program budget information because of 3rd party privacy restrictions, please email tradeshow@mpiweb.org.
Conditions:
- Planner agrees to schedule and attend fifteen appointments (five per day; 15 minutes each) with participating suppliers. Approximately four weeks prior to the conference, program participants will be able to begin requesting appointments with each other.
- Your credit card will be processed a $300 deposit at the time of registration and refunded after all appointments have been fulfilled. Planners who no-show will be charged a full registration fee ($625 for members and $935 for non-members) and equivalent of four (4) night’s hotel stay ($952). Should you elect to receive complimentary airfare instead, the expense will not be reimbursed.
- Planner must submit completed hosted buyer application and conference registration with paid $300 refundable deposit in order to be considered.
- Applicants who are not selected for the program will be refunded the $300 deposit within 30 days of notification, or may have the deposit credited toward the cost of a full conference registration.
- All applications will be reviewed and all applicants will receive notification on their status.
- Acceptance is non-transferrable.
- Once you are accepted, registration and hotel room will be confirmed. If you need to cancel after that, and prior to January 15, your cancellation must be received in writing and you will be refunded 50% of your deposit. After January 15, your entire deposit is non-refundable.
- Planners must stay all four (4) conference nights - Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday - in order to receive all of the hosted buyer program benefits.
- Any hotel cancellation fees, incidental expenses, and additional room nights will be the responsibility of the hosted buyer.
- While under consideration as a Hosted Buyer, you will be listed as a registrant on the MPI website (MPI never includes email addresses or phone numbers).
