British Standard 8901 for Sustainable Event Management

We have incorporated the principles of the first sustainable event standard, British Standard 8901, into how we work. This includes planning for the event, implementation of the event on-site, and a post-event review process that allows us to learn from our successes and challenges and incorporate changes into our next event. MPI’s Commitment to Sustainability

MPI has made the following commitment to sustainability and to sustainable events:

1) We recognize the immense potential impact our actions have on the communities in which we do business and make a deliberate commitment to the transformational power of meetings and events to support environmental, economic and social sustainability.

2) We will establish leadership and demonstrate commitment in the area of sustainable meetings by including environmental, economic and social factors in decisions we make on behalf of our members, and by making the best use of resources for maximum impact and alignment with our objectives.

3) We will educate and inform our members about our actions. We are committed to building our brand, supporting our mission and vision, and connecting our community in a sustainable way.

Stray Rescue of St. Louis

Stray Rescue’s mission is to lead the way towards making St. Louis a compassionate city where every companion animal knows health, comfort, and affection, and no stray is euthanized merely because he or she has been abandoned, abused, or neglected. As part of the organization’s mission, Stray Rescue is out on the streets daily taking a progressive, proactive approach to establishing a permanent resolution to the stray companion animal problem through dedicated rescue efforts, sheltering, community outreach programs, education, collaborations, and the encouragement of responsible pet guardianship.

Rescuing over 2,000 dogs and cats every year, Stray Rescue seeks to reduce the overpopulation, suffering, and euthanasia of homeless companion animals and foster responsibility and compassionate attitudes by supporting companion animals to the fullest extent.

In 2011, Stray Rescue was recognized as “Shelter of the Year” by Dog Fancy magazine, and has been featured on several major networks and publications, including National Geographic, Animal Planet, The Today Show, and People.
Additionally, they have developed numerous distinctive programs in support of their mission. Please visit StrayRescue.org to learn more.
