DESTINATION AND TRAVEL INFO

Granada: Birthplace of Flamenco and Capital of the Tapa

Granada is renowned as one of the most beautiful and historic cities in the world. At the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains, it offers beautiful views and a vibrant, friendly and lively metropolis that is full of rich cultural heritage. From The Alhambra, the historic flagship of the city and hallmark of Islamic Andalusian history, to the flamenco cuevas, to the lush Generalife Gardens, there are many ways to explore Granada’s rich culture and beauty while at EMEC.

Host Venue: Palacio de Congresos

One of the main conference centers in Spain, the Palacio de Congresos in Granada is a remarkable modern venue, boasting unique architecture, and, since established in 1992, has hosted more than 6,000 events.

The main hall at the center of the building can accommodate 2,000 people. The most visual characteristic of the building is its coating of green marble, Quetzal. This color was chosen to represent how the building is a “jewel” of the city while incorporating one of the colors of the Grenadian flag. Rooms are staggered at different levels embracing an interior vertical design. Maple wood was used in the construction of rooms making the space more acoustic and warm.
