We asked. You told us. We listened.

In It Together

By David R. Basler

Every Tuesday afternoon for the past couple of years, MPI has been sending out an e-mail newsletter called Community Net News (CNN) to every member on register. Earlier this year we started asking for your opinions on everything from CNN’s quality of content and design to readability and functionality.

We heard lots of opinions, but none more loud and clear than these: 1) “It needs to be something that I get value out of or why should I care?” 2) “I want to be able to view it from anywhere in the world on any device” and 3) “I want to be able to share the stories with others.” Three very simple requests, and we heard you loud and clear. The result? MPINews.

I am personally excited about MPINews, because each week One+ will be providing original exclusives as part of the e-newsletter’s content. When we asked you about the quality of content in CNN, you told us bluntly that it focused too much on marketing and not enough on real stories that are relevant to our success as an industry. We listened closely and made content quality our No. 1 focus.

When MPINews was launched in early November, replacing CNN, we received countless accolades regarding the time and effort we put into aggregating the best news headlines covering the broad business sectors our industry blankets.

The content is broken into three categories: Your Industry, Your Success and Your MPI—news and features that will update you on the most relevant industry news, knowledge to nurture and improve your personal and business success and updates on how MPI can help you survive and thrive.

To the second and third requests we heard, MPINews is available from anywhere, anytime on your office computer, iPhone or BlackBerry, and via the social networking tools, you can share content with friends and colleagues anywhere around the globe.

This issue is all about what our future looks like, and MPINews is just another great example of how MPI is changing the way our industry gets its news—the future is now.

Check your inbox every Tuesday afternoon for the next edition of your MPINews or visit www.mpiweb.org/MPINews to read back issues and subscribe if you’re not already receiving it.

Happy Holidays.
