Directs all activities of the MPI Publications department and has final responsibility for editorial and production of MPI print and online publications. Projects include but are not limited to The Meeting Professional (monthly magazine, print and online editions) and any published supplements to the magazine, Conference/Congress Connections (conference dailies), The Curriculum (PEC, annual), The Programme (WEC, annual) and the MPI Media Kit (annual). Other responsibilities include overseeing staff, creating strategic plans and managing budgets.
Coordinates freelance and in-house writers via assignment, contract, direction, revision and editing for The Meeting Professional and develops story ideas for MPI’s print and online publications. Principal editorial contact for MPI and chapter-related content. Rewrites and modifies copy for meaning and edits for AP and house style. Proofs page drafts and coordinates production schedules for The Meeting Professional and other print and online publications.
Editor, The Meeting Professional
Writes, compiles and edits material for The Meeting Professional, MPI’s monthly magazine, and coordinates writer assignments for all monthly feature editorial, including cover stories. Manages online content for The Meeting Professional.

Editor, Meeting Industry
Jessie States edits and manages research, white papers and case studies investigating everything from the future of events and the business value of meetings to technology and CSR. She also edits columns for MPI magazine The Meeting Professional and has won several writing awards from the likes of the American Society of Business Publication Editors and APEX.
