    Managing the Masses

What does amazing crowd-control look like? Luckily, there's a time-lapse video from the Tokyo-based Comiket (Comic Market) event. Watch more than 500,000 attendees queue up, wait patiently and then huge line by huge line, flow into the convention center--you get it all in 80 seconds!

Sure, organizers have asked attendees to not line up in advance, but c'mon, we're talking about limited edition comic books here. Another bit of genius: organizers brought in temporary mobile towers so those waiting and then exploring the show floor won't suffer from crowded cyberspace.

    The Next Illumination?

Giant, glowing, musical orbs were seen floating in Tokyo during Roppongi Art Night last month.

    These giant orbs.

Floating Instrument is one of several collaborations "designed to accentuate the interactions between music and the environment."

This is the next logical step for the standard anchored, floating lights at outdoor events.
