On Wednesday, February 8, the MPI Chicago Area Chapter will host an Educational Technology Conference, and we are delighted to be able to share it with our fellow MPI members from around the world. In just one day, you will hear from an incredible lineup of international meeting technology experts and experience some of the hottest trends in industry technology--and you don’t even have to leave your computer! Plus, you will have the opportunity to earn up to 4.5 Continuing Education clock hours (CEs) towards the CMP application and recertification application.
During the morning session, (8:30 - 10:30 a.m.), MPI President and CEO Bruce MacMillan address the entire MPI community. Reggie Aggarwal, founder and CEO of Cvent, will explore the role technology plays in the advancement of the meeting and event industry today. Finally, meeting technology expert Corbin Ball will provide a brief overview of industry trends that relate to housing and registration and lead a subsequent panel discussion.
From 12:00 - 2:00 p.m., Richard Saul Wurman, founder of TED conferences, who will lead the group into an informative presentation from John Pollard, event services director for MediaSite, about hybrid and virtual meetings, including overcoming geographic obstacles, improving participation and promoting collaboration.
In the final session of the day (3:30 - 4:45 p.m.), join New York Times bestselling author and social media expert Carol Roth as she provides insight on how to think strategically about social media in a customer loyalty context. Plus, learn critical facets of an effective social media strategy for the best social media ROI for your event marketing budget.
