Staging Sibos is one of ICC Sydney’s biggest triumphs to date and a prime example of why ICC Sydney delivers more than a venue. Delivering a trifecta of meticulous preparation, premium service and best-in-class facilities, Sibos 2018 received the strongest ever delegate score in the history of the event. Here, ICC Sydney outlines its secret to success.

An operational triumph

ICC Sydney collaborated with event organizers SWIFT to create an immersive delegate experience featuring a complex multi-day conference program and dynamic trade show with custom-built stands, interactive zones and live activations.

Pop-up and multi-purpose locations were set up for delegates to enjoy between sessions, taking full advantage of the venue’s sizable landscape and waterside, park and city skyline outlook. This included the transformation of the 53,820-square-foot, open-air Event Deck into a connected garden sanctuary—a place to relax, complete with early morning Tai Chi classes.

An inspiring culinary experience

ICC Sydney’s award-winning Feeding Your Performance culinary philosophy was also admired by delegates who relished the value, variety and impressive quality of produce on offer, sourced from ICC Sydney’s network of farmers and suppliers.

The team delivered their most complex catering effort to date with a host of dining options to cater to all tastes and preferences. This included serving more than 93,000 individual food items in 5,000+ service drops with sit-down menus at the 800-seat, purpose-built Sibos restaurant where 7,291 meals were served alongside grab-and-go options and on-stand exhibitor catering.

A full-spectrum Sydney experience

Delegates were thrilled for Sibos 2018 to take place in Australia and praised ICC Sydney for its enviable waterfront location within the vibrant Darling Harbour dining, leisure and business precinct.

Conveniently situated in the heart of the city, visitors enjoyed the venue’s proximity to accommodation options, transport hubs and major tourist attractions.

Attendees were equally impressed by ICC Sydney’s close connections to Sydney’s financial, creative and education districts, including the newly developed financial hub of Barangaroo.
