MPI-CAC Looks to Drive Membership

By: Heather Warthen, H1 Marketing & Events | Feb 19, 2019

NMMWith already 730 members, the MPI-CAC chapter is looking to take that even further in 2019.

The chapter recently announced its membership goal for the year to have 827 chapter members.

“Membership is and always has been a main focus and concentration,” said Keri Miller, Vice President of Membership. “We as an organization realize that without our members’ support and loyalty we could not survive. It is critical that we continue to listen to your feedback, share valuable resources and communicate relevant content with our members on a regular basis.

“In order to continue to grow and strengthen our chapter we rolled out several new social media campaign initiatives in January. Hopefully, our members are seeing the increase of these updates and data. Targeting an overall membership of 827 is a lofty goal. But we know with your support we will get there.”

The current membership features more than 200 active volunteers in its membership. Of the current members, more than 330 are planners and more than 340 are suppliers.

The Membership Committee is currently working to stay active with both current members by updating them through the chapter’s social media channels on Membership Monday, which is the first Monday of each month. During that time, members will not only learn how the chapter is tracking toward the goal of 827 but also be reminded of the benefits and opportunities they currently have as members of the organization.

Planner Tuesdays takes place on the second Tuesday of each month, highlighting news for event planners as well as  planner members celebrating an anniversary or new planner members.

On the third Thursday of each month, Supplier Thursdays offers everything industry-related topics that supplier members need to know as well as recognition for supplier members celebrating an anniversary or a new member.

Finally, the fourth Friday of each month provides a reminder of upcoming MPI-CAC events as well as encouraging members to share the MyFriendMPI recruitment offer - recruit a friend and both will save money. When using the referral code, non-members receive $50 off a Preferred or Premier MPI membership. Members receive $25 off their renewal cost, per each new member they recruit when their member ID is referenced.

For those who are considering a membership, but may need financial help, membership grants are offered four times a year. To apply, visit https://www.mpiweb.org/chapters/chicago-area/about-our-chapter/membership-grants.

Members can also keep an eye out for MPI WEC19 chapter challenge. MPI Global has launched a chapter-wide challenge in an effort to increase overall WEC attendance. The challenge offers some amazing prizes and benefits for the winning chapter and MPI-CAC will be working hard to win. Details on this challenge will be coming out via email and social media.
