MPI Connecticut River Valley FAQs
“How many MPI CRV events may I attend as a non-member?”
You may attend any MPI CRV events as a non-member, however non-member event fees will apply. We invite you to sample what MPI CRV has to offer. We are confident that you will be convinced of the value of MPI CRV membership.
“How long will my membership last?”
Memberships are renewed on a yearly basis through MPI Global.
“What does my membership to MPI CRV include?”
Your membership to MPI CRV includes access at the discounted member rate to all education and networking programs! You will also receive regular communication from the chapter and access to the membership roster. Best of all, you will have the opportunity for regular interactions with a broadened meeting and events network across Connecticut and Western MA!
“Does MPI CRV Education programs provide credit hours toward my CMP?”
Yes, each Education program may be submitted to the CIC for at least one credit hour.
“When are CMP Study Groups held?”
MPI CRV CMP study groups are scheduled based on demand and accommodate attendees' availability whenever possible.
“Where are CMP Study Groups held?”
Though the location of the CMP Study Group varies between terms, the location is typically in Greater Hartford area.
“Do I have to be a member of MPI CRV to participate in the CMP Study Group?”
No, the CMP Study Group is offered to members and non-members of MPI.
“Does MPI CRV provide a study group for the CMP exam?”
MPI CRV offers a face-to-face CMP Study Group each year to current members of our Chapter. We require a minimum of 3 CMP candidates to run our 11-week program. The course helps both planner and supplier members prepare for a successful completion of the CMP exam. Members who have been in the meeting industry long enough to meet the application’s requirements for work experience are welcome to attend.
“How can my organization support MPI CRV?”

The meetings and event management industry is alive and well in the Northeast region of the United States as evidenced by our five (5) neighboring MPI chapters. When you find yourself traveling to one of these areas, we encourage you to check their chapter websites to see if one of their meetings will be occurring during your visit.
