Event Overview:

Do you ever read the news and wonder how the current events of today impact your events of tomorrow? Join Marti Winer, outgoing MPI IBOD member and incoming MPI GBOT member,  for a lively discussion and a few laughs in our efforts to  understand how global news changes trends in our industry, the businesses we serve and the environment around us. We will take a look back in time to see how worldwide occurrences have historically set the tone for our meetings and events and how that has changed over time. We will also chat about what risks face us in the future and how our industry trends are preparing to meet what the world throws at us next!

Learning Objectives:

  1. Identify how global news impacts trends within the Event/Meeting industry

  2. Identify historic occurrences which have had a major impact on the industry

  3. Discuss potential (future) risks and brainstorm about how our industry may respond
