Student Membership
Student membership is available to those individuals enrolled in a post-secondary academic program with emphasis in the meeting, hospitality, events, and tourism-related industries leading to qualification as a regular member. The student must be enrolled in either a certificate, undergraduate or graduate program unless the academic institution defines it otherwise.
Students enrolled in a certificate program* will be eligible for student membership for one year but will not be eligible for the transition dues rate upon completion of their program. Proof of enrollment must be received at MPI before a student can be accepted into membership and upon renewal in order to retain their student membership.

With an MPI Student Membership, not only are you an active MPI member, but this also allows you membership with the local MPI chapter - MPI Georgia. As a member of MPI you have access to nearly 20,000 industry professionals to help you gain knowledge and guide you through your career development.

- Specialized Job Opportunities - Being a member of MPI allows you to access the MPI Career Center with industry-specific opportunities including internships, available.
- Committee Involvement - The Student Recruitment Committee is looking for some new members, both students and professionals. It’s a great way to get involved and have your voice heard on issues that students face, and it provides MPI Georgia with great feedback on how we can be there to assist them. Members of the committee have access to help with special projects within MPI Georgia as well that will serve as marketable experience for your future career.
- Volunteer Hours - We have volunteer opportunities at different chapter events including Eventeract in the Spring. By volunteering, student members have a great way to gain first-hand experience with industry professionals and occasionally gain free access to events. - Discounted Membership Post Graduation - With the Student in Transition program, you can continue to take advantage of all MPI has to offer once you graduate at a tiered discounted rate. You must be a student member to qualify for the rates once you graduate. Click here for details.
* Many local colleges and universities offer certificate programs in hospitality. These are great courses and wonderful opportunities for professionals to gain continuing education, plus also join MPI Georgia at the student membership rate.
