At MPI Georgia, we are continually seeking ways to meet you where you are as a professional, in order to offer you the most relevant value and opportunities possible. Regardless of where you’re at in your career, or within this industry, we want you to find what you need right here – so you can take that next step and continue growing.

Our Leadership Development & Senior Member Engagement team was born out of this goal. We created this new board-level area just 1 ½ years ago and have already accomplished so much. So, we thought it was time we introduced ourselves, and our initiatives, properly. Here’s a glimpse at what we’ve been up to…and what will be launching soon:

The Exchange

Have you noticed this logo popping up on our social media and website? We launched a new program in September to create a space where planners could engage in discussions of their choosing, a space dedicated to an exchange of ideas, best practices, challenges, and solutions related to today's leading meetings and events topics. Whether you're a senior planner or new to planning, this has become an amazing opportunity to network with your industry peers and dig deeper into the areas that matter most to you. Join us next time on April 16 to learn more!

Mentorships
It has long been on our wish list to create a strong mentoring program within our chapter, to link the knowledge and extraordinary experience of our more senior members (both planners and suppliers) with the desire to learn and grow from our newer professionals and student population. We are thrilled to announce this program will be launching at last within the next month! Be on the lookout for further details and ways to join the program. Succession Planning
Effective training, support, on-boarding, and transition are all critical for meaningful volunteer engagement and leadership service. We have established a collaboration with the MPI Tennessee Chapter to develop and implement a Succession Planning Toolkit that will help us define how to best engage our volunteers and give them the tools and resources to be successful. This toolkit will also provide guidance on navigating your way into a board role through leadership mapping and outline the chapter's leadership structure. A short-term task force is being formed to work on this project. If this sounds interesting to you, please reach out to Allyson Wagner. 

Focus Groups
Programs like those described above cannot be created alone. As Board members, we have certain perspectives and ideas that we bring to the table, but we want our chapter’s offerings to reflect who we are here to serve: you. Accordingly, it is essential for us to host these Focus Groups to learn more about your needs and priorities, and how the chapter can support them. Our Focus Groups are typically directed toward specific industry segments or professional seniority levels. We would love your insight on future Focus Groups.
