Venue Details

God’s Love We Deliver is the New York metropolitan area’s leading provider of life-sustaining meals and nutrition counseling for people living with severe illnesses. Begun as an HIV/AIDS service organization, today God’s Love provides for people living with more than 200 individual diagnoses. God’s Love cooks and home delivers the specific, nutritious meals a client’s severe illness and treatment so urgently require. Meals are individually tailored for each client by one of our Registered Dietitian Nutritionists, and all clients have access to unlimited nutrition counseling. God’s Love supports families by providing meals for the children and senior caregivers of its clients. All of the agency’s services are provided free of charge, and in its history of more than 30 years, God’s Love We Deliver has never had a waiting list. For more information, visit godslovewedeliver.org. God’s Love is a non-sectarian organization.

Kitchen Prep

With over 30,000 meals delivered each week, the kitchen staff relies on volunteers to help prepare these meals for more than 3,000 clients. Tasks may include chopping onions, wrapping rolls, peeling potatoes or making meatballs. Volunteers should be able to stand for the full shift (3 hours).

Dress Code: Clothing must completely cover shoulders, armpits, knees and toes. Long sleeves must be pushed above your elbows while working with food. All hair must be fully covered in the kitchen. We provide hairnets, however hats may be worn providing all hair is covered, including ponytails and bangs. No bracelets, watches or dangling earrings may be worn.

Age Requirement: Volunteers must be at least 18 to work in the kitchen.

Cell Phones: Cell phone use is not permitted while working in the kitchen.

To ensure the safety of our clients, we ask that anyone who is ill does not work in the kitchen. With advance notice, we can occasionally find an office project for those not feeling well.
