Special Initiatives

Special Events Committee

IMPRESS Chair: Christine Robinett, ChristineRobinett@boydgaming.com

Charge: Under the direction of the Special Events Chair, this committee will plan and execute the IMPRESS Awards as well as two networking events during the year.

Composition (include term/time commitment): The Committee meets once per month throughout the year with more frequent meetings in the spring as the IMPRESS Awards draw near.

Benefits:

  • Experience managing deadlines
  • Experience working with contacts that can build their professional/personal relationships
  • Experience planning all aspects of an event

 


Annual Fundraiser Committee

Charge:  A networking/social outing to raise funds to support the MPI Foundation and bring people together in a fun and informal way. 

Composition:  6-month commitment; time commitment by month: Summer event/5-6 months prior to event-January/February-meet 1-2 times, March-meet 1-2 times, April-meet 1-2 times, May-meet 1-2 times; June/July 1-2 times or weekly depending on need.

Benefits:  Work together as a team to implement a fun, informal gathering for IMPI members.

Responsibilities/Ongoing Tasks: From event conception to onsite logistics, this committee will handle all details to bring together IMPI members for a social outing to support the MPI Foundation. That includes:  event concept, venue selection, sponsorship procurement, event promotion, and onsite logistics.

 


Great Lakes Education Summit (GLES) Committee

GLES Chair: Kathleen Headington, kheadington@visitindy.com

The GLES committee is responsible for a three state, day and a half education conference in November. The conference rotates between Indiana, Wisconsin and Michigan. The committee members from all three states work together on speakers, marketing, scheduling, sponsorships, attendees and after hour events associated with the conference. The committee is separated into three sub- committees- venue, speaker and sponsorship. Each member is placed in the category that best interests each individual.

Since three states are involved, conference calls are used approximately once a month and some work time outside the calls are needed depending on what area of the committee you are placed.

Benefits:

  • Meet and work with planners and suppliers from three states
  • Help develop an educational conference for the Indiana Chapter

Responsibilities/Ongoing Tasks:

  • Participate in conference calls
  • Register and attend GLES in November
  • Help with details of the conference based on committee placement
