Member Spotlight

Jennifer is originally from Lexington and is a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a BS in Hospitality Management and Tourism and a Minor in Business Administration.  She is currently the Director of Sales + Marketing at 21c Museum Hotel Lexington.  Jennifer has been with 21c for almost 3 years and was a member of the pre-opening team for 21c Lexington in 2015 prior to the exciting opening of Lexington’s premier boutique hotel in February 2016.  Jennifer has always had a passion for traveling and has been an outgoing “people person” since she was a young child, making the hospitality industry a perfect fit! 

Jennifer started her career in the hospitality industry working as a Front Desk Agent at the Hilton Downtown throughout college.  After graduating in 2009, she accepted a position with the locally headquartered Creative Lodging Solutions as a Lodging Coordinator.  She obtained invaluable skills from both of these positions and was able to obtain her first position in sales in 2010.  Shortly after relocating to New Jersey with her now-husband, she started as Sales Coordinator at the Hampton Inn in Secaucus, just outside of New York City.  Jennifer thrived in this new role and realized that her true passion within the industry was in sales.  She loved building relationships with clients and really digging in to find new business for the property.  She was quickly promoted to Director of Sales at the Hampton Inn and stayed with this property for 2 years.  Jennifer loved the excitement of living and working in the outskirts of Manhattan but realized her true dream was to work at a property in NYC.  This dream was fulfilled when she was awarded a position as Sales Manager at the Doubletree Financial District on Wall Street!  Jennifer had experiences both in her professional and personal life that she absolutely loved while working in NYC but after getting married in 2013, her and her husband decided they wanted to move back home to be close to their families and to start a family of their own.  Jennifer accepted a position as Assistant Director of Sales with the Hilton Suites Lexington Green and was promoted after 2 years to Director of Sales + Marketing.  Jennifer had always had her eye on 21c from the moment she heard they were planning to open a property in Lexington so when the official announcement came out, of course, she had to apply!  She was thrilled when she was awarded her current position and it was such an exciting journey to be a part of a hotel opening.  Jennifer is honored to have the opportunity to share the amazing 21c experience with guests, clients and the community on a daily basis!

In her personal life, Jennifer loves spending time with her family including her husband, 17 month old daughter, Julianne, and their two dogs, Bailey and Skyy.  They are expecting their second child in December and could not be more excited!  Jennifer also has a passion for fitness, loves spending time outside and enjoys baking and hosting parties and family holiday celebrations! 

Jennifer has become much more involved in MPI since beginning her role with 21c in 2015.  Jennifer has coordinated MPI events at her property and also decided to become an even more active member by attending MPI WEC in Las Vegas in 2017 and Indianapolis this year as well as MPI MAC in Columbus this past Spring.  Jennifer cannot wait for future opportunities to continue to engage with the MPI KBC community in the coming years!
