Membership Scholarship for Meeting Professionals

The MPIMP Scholarship for Meeting Professionals was created by MPIMP to help increase membership
of meeting professionals, as well as offer opportunities for those responsible for planning meetings and
events, who are financially unable to join MPIMP at this time.

Scholarship Goal

Our goal is to ensure the meeting professional will experience firsthand the membership benefits of
MPIMP. From education programs and Platinum Speakers to networking events and community
activities, MPIMP offers the resources for continuous professional growth and improvement.
MPMPI will provide a scholarship to qualified meeting professionals for four (4) years with the
following stipulations:

Year 1 – 100% of membership fee paid by MPIMP
Year 2 – 75% of membership fee paid by MPIMP
Year 3 – 50% of membership fee paid by MPIMP
Year 4 – 25% of membership fee paid by MPIMP

Scholarship Recipient Qualifications

  • Individuals must plan meetings or events as part of their job responsibilities.
  • The applicant cannot be an existing MPIMP or MPI member.
  • The applicant must have the authority to sign an event and venue rental contract, as the client, as well as be responsible for detailing events from start to finish.
  • The applicant can be a previous scholarship recipient. Your scholarship will be awarded at your nexteligible level. For example, if you had a scholarship for one year already, you would start out at year two(75% funding) on the above scale.

Scholarship Recipient Requirements

  • The recipient is required to be an active Chapter member by attending a minimum of five MPIMP events during each of the four years of scholarship membership (membership year is based on your join date, not the calendar year).
  • Be active on a MPIMP Committee (Communications, Education, Membership, Special Events (this committee roster is currently full) or Sponsorship) and attend at least five committee meetings each year during the four year scholarship term.
  • If at any time during the four year term of this scholarship, a recipient’s job duties change so that they no longer meet the scholarship criteria (regardless of employer), MPIMP reserves the right to discontinue the scholarship.
  • If, after each of the first three years of membership, the recipient has not attended the required number of committee or chapter meetings, MPIMP reserves the right to discontinue the scholarship.
