MPI MN Up-Close Profile – Supplier - Elaine Erickson

1. Tell us about your business and your current job.

I’ve been with Embassy Suites by Hilton MSP Airport for 13 years and am currently a Sales Manager. I primarily handle corporate accounts and enjoy the relationships I’m able to make. Several of the Executive Committee members have been with the property for 10+ years so we are truly a family. We enjoy being able to create unique and different experiences for our clients. Our main floor was recently renovated, including all meeting space, so it’s been a joy seeing our guests’ reactions to the major transformation.

2. What do you hope to gain from your MPI Membership?

I hope to further my knowledge of the industry and gain more connections. Hospitality is a big world but everyone has something in common.

3. If there was only one thing a potential customer could remember about your company, what would that be?

Free cooked-to-order breakfast and a Two-Hour Evening Reception – who can pass that up?

4. What one piece of advice would you give to a new supplier joining the MPI network?

Don’t let your insecurities and hesitations stop you. Take the leap of faith and open yourself to all the possibilities that MPI has to offer.

5. What has been the best piece of advice you have been given, and how has it made a difference in your life - personally or professionally?

Stop second guessing yourself – you have the knowledge to get things done. Hearing this, definitely helped me increase my confidence and made me realize that I’m great at thinking out-of-the-box.

6. What are some of your favorite pastime activities?

Taking vacations with my family (mainly to Duluth), reading, and anything outside.
