March 7, 2019 Meeting Recap

The newly opened Hotel Saint Louis, a Marriott Autograph Collection Hotel, was home to the March 7th Education Meeting. Featuring round table discussions, the meeting encouraged conversation and collaboration by attendees. Attendees moved from table to table with each course served making it possible to engage with many differing viewpoints.  

Attendees were prompted by conversation cards on each table with a variety of topics. After discussing in small groups, ideas were shared with all attendees. Some of the ideas shared were:

Menu Planning on a Budget 

• Save menu costs by selecting the same menu items as the group before you

• Ask for a percentage discount when sharing menus

• To cut back on food quantity, make the meal more of an experiences such as having a flambé station instead of a dessert buffet

Tech Trends

• Crowd Compass links with Cvent allowing for paperless schedules for attendees

• Holograms are becoming more common in presentations as the ubiquity of the technology has decreased the cost to planners

Attendee Engagement and Networking Events

• Busch Stadium has announced new engagement events

• Teams of guests can do a treasure hunt throughout the Busch Stadium, encouraging team building and conversation

• Hosting a Home Run Derby allows for guests to bond over a unique shared experience
