MPI St. Louis is proud to partner with a local organization to allow our members the opportunity to give back. At each education program, MPI St. Louis highlights a philanthropy and encourages our members to provide donations to the organization at the event. The list below is a snapshot of the organizations our chapter has supported.

The Kingdom House After School program provides a safe and academically-focused environment conducive to homework help and supplemental educational curriculum and activities. Health activities and nutritious meals are provided daily. The program serves approximately 50 children and operates from September through May.

Kingdom House is an official Children’s Defense Fund Freedom School program partner. The program seeks to build strong, literate and empowered children prepared to make a difference in themselves, their families and communities. By providing summer reading enrichment for children who might not otherwise have access to books, the program plays a much needed role in helping to curb summer learning loss and close achievement gaps. The program serves approximately 100 children and operates for six consecutive weeks in the months of June and July.

There are more than 90,000 students in St. Louis who cannot afford basic school supplies like pencils, paper, and crayons. KidSmart – Tools for Learning helps these children succeed in school by providing free school supplies where teachers shop for their students through KidSmart’s Free Store. Since opening in 2002, KidSmart has distributed more than $20 million in school supplies to more than 45,000 economically disadvantaged children in the area. Please bring “back to school” supplies with you to the first Educational Meeting on September 14 as an in-kind donation to KidSmart.

With the help of MPI St. Louis, KidSmart can paint a bright tomorrow for thousands of St. Louis children in need. Read more about KidSmart on their website:
