A collaborative education event between HSMAI and MPI THCC brought 62 meeting professionals together where a group of talented planners and hoteliers addressed the topic of RFP Unrated! Life of an RFP. At that event, we met with 26 new MPI THCC members. At an event this past month I had the opportunity to connect with many new and longtime members. The energy was contagious. A couple of new members asked for advice on how to pursue their Certified Meeting Professional Certification (CMP).  It made me think about those days when I was the one asking the very same questions with curiosity and truth be told, a bit of nervousness. If you are interested in pursuing your CMP, learn about the requirements at our CMP Preparation Study Course facilitated by experienced CMPs starting in September.  I’m thrilled to report we had 7 members take the CMP exam this month, and all 7 passed after attending our CMP Boot Camp!  KUDOS to each of you and welcome to the CMP FAMILY!

Membership continues to stay steady at approximately 315 members.  As we grow, we strive to connect our new and longtime members through peer to peer programs, hosted new member orientations at educational events, and provide fun, casual meet-and-greet opportunities to connect with the THCC membership team and fellow colleagues. Whether you are an industry veteran or new to the industry/area, we encourage you to attend multiple event opportunities to gain more from MPI.

The MPI THCC’s Networking Event Craft for a Cause: Crafting to Combat Human Trafficking on September 6th at Upstairs Circus, is just around the corner.  There's never been a more important cause within our industry. Space is limited so register soon!The Refuge’s own Kristin Paulson will be present at the event to bring awareness for The Refuge DMST™ (Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking), a long-term, residential, therapeutic community for minor girls through age 19, who have been rescued from sex traffickers. The Refuge Ranch will be one of the only long-term, live-in rehabilitation facilities for child survivors of sex trafficking in the United States. Join us to raise funds and learn about this great cause.
