Happy fall, MPI Texas Hill Country members! I hope that everyone is staying dry and safe with all the crazy weather.

September and October have been jam-packed with activity within the chapter, and I hope that each of you have had the opportunity to connect with your fellow colleagues.

At the end of September, the chapter implemented a migration of the MPI Texas Hill Country Web site, which was developed following the MPI global initiative to have all chapters under one umbrella.  This initiative will provide continuity among the chapters, as well as much easier finds on search engines. If you haven’t had an opportunity to view the new site, I encourage you to visit mpi.org/thcc.  Along with the migration, the global team has redesigned all the chapter logos.

We are excited to see MPI Global launch the newly designed chapter demographic and buying power report!  Demographic- and chapter-buying power reports provide a valuable resource to support sponsorship and advertising sales, membership retention and recruitment efforts. Our first chapter demographic showed membership at 316 members with 54% planners, 43% suppliers and 3% students with an estimated buying power of $179,375,000. Way to go, Texas Hill Country Chapter!

On October 4, 35 MPI Texas Hill Country members came together for the Leadership Development Bootcamp.  This event provided a growing network of colleagues with the platform to inspire and develop one-on-one connections. Our speaker, Steven Foster, delivered powerful words on ways to move into full-throttle leadership.  Attendees discovered how to strengthen their leadership skills, recognize and overcome fears and break through barriers that have been holding them back. It was truly an inspiring event, and a few of us tested our strength and abilities with board-breaking exercises. WOW, what a rush!!!

Whether it’s a nano project or participation in a committee, it’s never too late to get involved.  We hope to see each of you tap into your inner leader and join so many who volunteer and lead in our industry community. Volunteer today!  In addition, MPI Texas Hill Country Board of Directors nominations are now open.  Interested in taking it a step further and becoming part of this board? I say go for it!  Apply today!

The October social networking event at Whisler’s brought 30+ meeting professionals together at a creative, cutting-edge venue that thinks progressively about their bar.  This is definitely a cool space for those of you who are planners and suppliers to check out for future networking events.

ONLY two weeks until TEC18...Have you registered? With more than 150 attendees registered to attend so far, we are hitting record-breaking numbers for TEC18.  Come see leading visionaries who inspire “out-of-the-box” thinking, creative design concepts, a community outreach project that gives back to the San Antonio community and so much more.  Join us and be part of this incredible event!!! Register today!  And if you are interested in showcasing your company at TEC18, you can still become a sponsor!

Remember, it’s never too late to get involved, be inspired and make connections that last a lifetime.

CREATE….Connections, Opportunities, Inspiration

All my best to you!  Donna
