MPI Toronto Shoreline Clean up Event in partnership with Freeman Audio Visual Canada
Put your devices away and get outside with MPI Toronto while helping the environment.
MPI Toronto Chapter members and friends are invited to participate in a FREE shoreline clean-up of tiny trash along the Lake Ontario Waterfront in Toronto. This program is made possible by the generous support of the Freeman Audio Visual Canada ECOS Chapter Grant provided by the MPI Foundation.
The event shall take place on July 31st from 4-6pm and is open to all MPI Toronto members and friends of MPI Toronto. Registration is required.
Participants will be given bags, buckets and gloves to collect the tiny trash such as coffee cups, bottle caps, broken children's beach toys, Styrofoam, straws, and coffee stoppers as these small plastic pieces are very detrimental to the bird, fish and turtle species that live on our waterfront because they are often mistaken for a food source.

Event stipulations:
- no pets are allowed (except for Service Dogs)
- wear comfortable, closed toed shoes or rubber boots. Note: shoes will get dirty!
- no flip-flops or sandals are allowed. Participants with this type of foot wear will not be permitted to participate due to safety regulations.
- Terrain is uneven and there may be prickly vegetation that can cause rashes (eg: thistle, buckthorn, poison ivy, wild parsnip, etc.)
- Wear pants to protect legs from scratches and insect bites
- Dress for the weather - we work rain or shine
- Bring or wear sunscreen and a hat and a bottle of water.
- Leave all electronics and valuables at home. TRCA will not be responsible for any loss, stolen or damaged items
