Home has many meanings. At MPI we are the home for business connections, education, inspiration and particularly professional development. In providing this home for our community and supporting their professional growth, we help shape the world around us, both directly and indirectly, through the live experiences our members create. Frankly, I marvel at the incredible experiences you imagine, design and execute.
MPI has now been my professional home for seven years, and I’m proud to be part of an organization that continues to move the needle and makes an impact not only on our industry, but in positively changing our world; and I get inspired every day by our passionate community. At MPI, we’ve been making significant strides—from creating a more inclusive community to developing innovative and cutting-edge educational programing to providing networking and personal growth opportunities unparalleled in the industry. And we continue to remain committed to and focused on being the industry home for all meeting professionals.
Former U.K. Prime Minister Winston Churchill said about home, “We shape our dwellings, and afterward our dwellings shape us.”
The backbone of MPI is our volunteers who shape our association—the association that has been the industry-leading professional home for nearly 50 years, helping shape countless industry leaders.
But we can’t rest on our past; to continue to create a welcoming and relevant environment for all members of our diverse community, we continue our efforts to create an environment of inclusivity, where individuals can tailor their MPI experience based on their own professional ambitions and personal interests. To support these efforts, we have been investing in the development of a number of unique MPI professional communities and special interest groups, supported with targeted educational content, peer-to-peer learning and networking.
To date, we have developed nine individual communities, with each group offering tailored resources, networking and professional growth opportunities. In combination with the MPI Academy, our education arm, we are planning to deliver an array of opportunities and personalized experience never before seen in our industry. Through these efforts and the support of our dedicated staff and volunteers, MPI aspires to become the career home for all meeting and event professionals.
