Returning to IMEX America for the seventh consecutive year, Smart Monday powered by MPI is bringing almost 30 educational sessions to Las Vegas. Topics in this year’s program include risk management, medical meetings, strategic communications and event safety and security, an important topic for meeting and event professionals that has become even more significant following last week’s concert attack on the Las Vegas Strip.

“The feedback we have received on our educational program for IMEX America continues to be overwhelmingly positive year after year,” said Paul Van Deventer, president and CEO of MPI. “If you have not attended our Smart Monday program before, I encourage you to join us as we will present a variety of timely and powerful education sessions designed for meeting professionals of all levels.”

As in the past, the industry education also includes four keynote addresses , delivered each morning in the Sands Showroom. This year’s speakers and topics include Janet Sperstad, CMP (“Purposeful Meetings – Driving Deeper Meaning and Insights”), Juliet Funt (“Activity Is Not Productivity”), Todd Buchholz (“Prosperity Ahead – or Not?”) and Brent Bushnell (“Creating Innovative Experience through Interactive Experiences and Immersive Entertainment”).

“This year we designed Smart Monday education around IMEX’s theme of ‘Purposeful Meetings,’” said Lori Pugh, lead manager of event programs & production for MPI. “Each of our sessions with help attendees plan more engaging and meaningful meetings.”
