Sharing Stories of Empowerment for International Women’s Day

By Michael Pinchera | Feb 15, 2019

Positive Impact, the Manchester, England-based organization created by Fiona Pelham in 2005, wants you to share personal stories of inspiration. Its Girls Creating campaign collects powerful tales of empowerment to help inspire the next generation of women in the meeting and event industry, all of which supports the vision of a sustainable event industry.

This is all leading up to International Women’s Day on March 8, during which Positive Impact will present a free, 30-minute-long webinar to engage with women and disseminate the lessons they wish they knew when they were seven years old. Register for the webinar—if you can’t make it to one of the broadcast times on International Women’s Day, fear not, the webinar will be archived and available for on-demand viewing.

How Can You Get Involved?

  1. Feed the future by visiting the Girls Creating page and add your own story.
  2. Experience the inspiration by reading and sharing the stories of other women that are already posted on the Girls Creating page.
  3. Register for the International Women’s Day webinar.

Also on the Girls Creating page, you’ll find 11 interviews focused on the importance of gender equality, with industry experts such as Kristi Casey Sanders, CMP, CMM, DES, HMCC, MPI’s director of community; Janet Sperstad, CMP (MPI Wisconsin Chapter), program director at Madison College; and Annette Gregg, CMM, MBA (MPI San Diego), regional senior vice president at PRA Business Events.

While you’re there, sign up for the Positive Impact newsletter to stay up-to-date on the latest news for developing a better meeting and event industry.
