TMP Year In Review: How was your 2017?

TMP Year In Review 2017

You were impacted by major natural disasters (hurricanes, wildfires, earthquakes, flooding) that injected chaos to large geographic areas. Political action (and/or the threat of such) caused headaches for international attendees and for planners seeking non-discriminatory jurisdictions in which to hold meetings. You’ve been forced through necessity or duty of care to create—or more fully develop—contingency plans that extend to active shooter or vehicular violence situations.

You enjoyed doing business in an industry that has overall remained healthy economically—even showing steady signs of growth for the coming year—as it continues to determine how to play nice with disruptive innovations and technologies.

You participated in record-breaking industry gatherings, explored new learning methodologies and meeting design tactics, went behind the scenes of major events and learned from some of the best educators while spending ever-valuable face-time with your peers. You also gave back through volunteering with your local MPI chapter, donating to the MPI Foundation and advocating for the industry on local, national and international levels.

You’re a meeting professional and the reason The Meeting Professional exists.

It is a pleasure to present to you our special “Year in Review looks back at the myriad factors that came about in 2017 which affected (or will affect) your event or meetings, providing important updates to the big headlines and sharing tips and lessons learned in order to help make your 2018 a success.
