Education Committee 2017-2018
The Education Committee is responsible for planning and implementing eight monthly programs, providing innovative and quality education topics and opportunities for professional and personal growth for MPI MN members. Each month this committee helps coordinate logistics with the sponsoring venue and the monthly keynote speaker.
Vice President of Education
The Vice President’s responsibilities are to manage the business plan for the committee, manage check requests and submissions, and as needed on educational programs. Time commitment 15-20 hours monthly
Director of Education
The chief responsibilities of the Director of Education are managing the monthly Education programs and supporting the Vice President of Education in developing programs and managing event registration. Time commitment 8-10 hours monthly
Chair Descriptions
CMP Chair
This position is responsible for conducting four-yearly CMP boot camps and is a liaison between MPI chapter and Convention Industry Council, work with sponsorship chair to find facility locations, update information and website as needed with Synergos, recruit chapter CMPs for additional request assistance in topic presentation, prep course materials and supplies, update chapter with passing examinees information for recognition, submit CMP level questions and answers each month for the newsletter, produce CMP/CMM breakfast annually. Grant Writing Chair
The responsibilities of the Grant Writing Chair are monitoring MPI Global for any upcoming grant offerings, including deadlines, writing of grants, submit submissions after reviewing them with the VP of education. This position is a
Monthly Meeting Chair
The responsibilities of the Monthly Meeting Chair are to oversee monthly meetings and to support and manage Monthly Meeting teams to assure speakers are booked, events are posted and submitted for CIC credit. Responsibilities also include the marketing plan and venue logistics are being executed in a timely fashion. Time Commitment: 3 hours monthly
Speaker Logistics
The responsibilities of the Speaker Logistics are assisting in future monthly meeting planning, confirming speakers if not already selected, coordinate with Venue Logistics Team on needs and execution, communicate with
Event Postings
The responsibilities of Event Postings are drafting web content for monthly meeting events and any other events that fall under the Education Committee, including contacting the Speaker Logistics for pertinent info on the speaker/content. The Event Postings will supply information to various Committees and/or Association Management Company for approval and
Marketing
The responsibilities of Marketing are to develop and supply content to the MarComm team via the content submission form for publications and coordinate with SA on any sponsorship exposure. Content
Venue Logistics
The responsibilities of Venue Logistics team include handling the monthly meeting logistics: coordinate with the venue room set-up and AV needs, provide guarantee, coordinate with catering menu and provide dietary restrictions and F&B count, verify with Strategic Alliances any sponsors and/or in-kind sponsors that receive complimentary registration and communicate with Association Management Company (Synergos).
