MPI San Diego’s Access to Excellence Scholarship

We are thrilled to announce the launch of the MPI San Diego’s Access to Excellence Scholarship, designed to empower and support promising planners and suppliers in their professional growth. This scholarship provides a fantastic opportunity for eligible candidates to secure funds for an MPI San Diego membership. Scholarship Details

What is the Access to Excellence Scholarship?
The Access to Excellence award funds provide an annual MPI San Diego membership to three local San Diego meetings and events professionals, seeking to advance their professional careers within the MPI San Diego community. This scholarship is awarded within each chapter fiscal year (January 1st- December 31st), to build their network and further their professional growth.

These funds are generated from an anonymous donor - a well-respected industry professional who is passionate about giving back to our community and uplifting others. The Access to Excellence Scholarship is exclusively offered through the San Diego Chapter to local professionals.

Scholarship Criteria 

Demonstrated Commitment to MPI San Diego  The applicant should be able to complete 10 volunteer hours with our Board of Directors. 

Potential Impact  The applicant should show how the scholarship could potentially benefit their professional growth and contribute to the chapter's overall community. 

Future Engagement  The applicant should be willing to engage with our members in the following suggested options: 

-Speak at an MPISD’s in-person event 
-Create a video for MPISD’s social media 
-Create a post for MPISD’s social media
-Create an article for MPISD’s website 

Career Goals  The applicant should have career aspirations and show how the scholarship may help them achieve those goals within the meetings and events industry.

Who Is Eligible For The Scholarship?
Here are the criteria for eligibility:
San Diego local, who is a member or interested in becoming a member of MPI San Diego Chapter
The applicant should have a proven dedication to MPI Diego Chapter, exemplified through their 10 volunteer hours contributed to the chapter.

This scholarship is open to a diverse range of applicants, fostering an inclusive and equitable selection process.

What Will The Access to Excellence Scholarship Funds Be Applied To?
The funds will be applied to an MPI San Diego Chapter membership, which will cover one year of membership.
