Board Applications

Welcome to the MPI New England Board Nomination and Application for the 2025 term. Whether you're interested in nominating a colleague or applying yourself for a board position, we appreciate your enthusiasm and commitment. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the qualifications and responsibilities outlined below before completing the form at the bottom of this page.

2025 Board Nomination & Application Timeline

  • Application and nominations are open by April 1, 2024.
  • The nomination window closes on April 20, 2024.
  • The application window closes on April 30, 2024.
  • Eligible applicant interview period will be May 1 through 31, 2024.
  • The final executive slate will be presented to the current Board of Directors at their June 2024 Board Meeting.
  • The final 2025 Board of Directors slate will be sent to the full MPI-NE chapter membership on July 1, 2024 for contestation/acceptance. 
  • The final Board of Director slate for 2025 will be sent to MPI Global for confirmation on August 1, 2024.
Qualifications for MPI-NE Board Members

Membership: Applicants must be MPI members in good standing.
Obligations: Candidates should be willing to fulfill the obligations of their desired office. Click here to read about the specific responsibilities of each position on the board. 
Involvement: A history of active involvement, accomplishments, and reliable service to MPI is preferred.

Contribution: Candidates should be prepared to contribute their time, talents, and creativity to the chapter, with the approval of their employer.

Serving on the MPI Board of Directors is both demanding and rewarding. It offers you the opportunity to become a leader within one of the largest organizations of meeting professionals, contributing significantly to the growth of your chapter and enhancing your professional development.

General Responsibilities of MPI-NE Board Members

Board Membership: Act as a voting member of the Board of Directors.
Attendance: Regularly attend MPINE monthly events, Board meetings, and Executive Committee meetings (for Vice Presidents and the Office of the President).
Retreats: Mandatory attendance at semi-annual Board retreats. The first board retreat for the 2025 term will be November 6 through 8 at the Woodstock Inn and Resort in Woodstock, Vermont. 
Reporting: Report on committee strategies, successes, and challenges to the Board of Directors.
Support: Support and uphold policies and programs adopted by the Board of Directors.
Volunteer Development: Recruit, retain, and develop committee volunteers to support committee functions.
Transition Management: Conduct transition meetings with successors, provide training to incoming Board Members, and ensure a smooth transition process.
Additional Duties: Perform other duties as delegated by the President and/or Board of Directors.
