For the 11th year, MPI Potomac will be hosting a Silent Auction this spring, which will kick off the week before the chapter’s signature Derby Days event and run for three weeks.

When
The Silent Auction will open on April 18, 2024 and run through not only Derby Days on April 25, but – NEW this year – the auction will remain open through the MPI Potomac May e2:Seafood Soiree: Spice Up Your Meetings with Sustainable Delights! happening on May 6. The auction will officially close on Friday, May 10. This means promotion of donations will occur over the course of three full weeks and two large chapter events! 

Why
MPI Potomac recognizes the value of its members who supply goods and services and feel there should be additional benefits for those who help the chapter achieve its goals of superior professional development and networking opportunities. We will utilize Givergy for this online auction to showcase your organization and item to our community. 

Here are some reasons to consider a donation to the silent auction or providing a sponsorship:

• Proceeds received will also help augment the cost of professional development and other various member benefits of MPI Potomac.

• You will receive recognition via Givergy to the MPI Potomac community that stretches beyond members but also to non-members as well as friends and family who are all potential online bidders.

• Exposure to the donating organization for three full weeks online and at two in-person MPI Potomac events.

How to Donate
We encourage you to be creative. Why not consider providing lunch with your congressman; or providing a piece of art by a beloved artist; or extending a wine tour at a local Virginia winery? Of course, hotel accommodations, airline tickets, transportation items, gourmet baskets, etc, are always winners. 

Donating to the MPI Potomac Online Auction Fundraiser is easy.

1. Click on this Google Form.

2. Complete the form with your contact information and item details.

When you submit an item to this auction, you will be asked to provide some information about the item you would like to donate, along with pictures of the item or business. If the donation has any restrictions, we ask you elaborate on those in your posting. If your donation has an expiration date,please set the date no earlier than May 10, 2025. 

Once you submit your donation, the auction subcommittee will contact you with any questions and upload the details to the Givergy platform.

Please note: DO NOT SEND items to MPI Potomac. We will inform you of the winner and have you send the item directly to that winner after the auction. 

How to Bid:
To see the available auction items, visit our Givergy site and click the “Silent Auction Items” tab.

• Scroll through the list and tap on the item you want to bid on.
• You’ll then see the current winning bid and the next minimum bid you need to make.
• Enter your bid amount into the field at the bottom of the page and click Place Bid.
